Leroy is looking forward to returning home after being in our care for recovery from Cellulitis/Lymphangitis. Thank you to the client for giving him the best opportunity for a full recovery.

The Admiral Gratton team has been responsible for nurturing thousands of horses back to health. We’ve cared for some of Canada’s Olympic team members and many loved family companions. Our staff gives each and every horse the same loving care and professional attention.

Confidentiality prevents us from sharing many of our success stories, but here are some letters from some of our many happy customers.

My horse Atrevido came to Chandra and her team in the fall of 2020. He was suffering from an ongoing infection caused by an abcessed tooth which had been surgically removed but stubbornly refused to heal properly. He had been in and out of OVC for months, and part of the last discharge instructions were to feed him only soft food many times a day, flush his mouth and discharge port, and monitor for infection. Of course – No hay. He is an outdoor horse who lives in a herd with hay and I did not want him stalled all day. It was impossible for me to manage this kind of care for him as I do not live with him and that kind of care at my barn was not possible. I was at my wits end when I found Chandra. Literally crying to her on the phone I found her so knowledgeable, compassionate, and most of all calm and focused. I immediately arranged to have him brought here. It was the best decision I ever made for him. His long journey of suffering finally came to an end with the care of Chandra and her team. He is home now, happy and dancing around in his paddock but I am sure somewhere deep down he still misses his friends here at Admiral. I still laugh about the time I went to visit him and walked right past him – I did not recognize him. He had never looked so good! Although he is just a plain little brown trail horse with no fancy pedigree, he was treated like a prince at Admiral Gratton. I will forever be in debt to the people here and I will never forget their amazing compassion and care.

My horse Henry was at Admiral Gratton Legacy Farm shortly after I got him. He is an OTTB. He had some health issues and was taken care of wonderfully by Chandra and her team. I took him home for almost 4 years, but have since brought him back to AGLF. Henry was suffering from chronic bouts of mud fever and cellulitis. At Admiral Gratton he is healthy again, no more mud fever, happy and I know that he is in the best hands. I feel relaxed knowing that even through the times of lockdown due to the pandemic, he is looked after 100%, no shortcuts, just the best care for my precious boy. I only can recommend Admiral Gratton Legacy Farm.

Over the last five years, I have sent several horses to Admiral Gratton for both general boarding and recuperation from injuries. As a long time professional in the Hunter Jumper world, I am cautious about where to send my horses for extended periods of time. I have developed great confidence and trust in Chandra and her team at Admiral Gratton. They have proven to be knowledgeable, conscientious and consistent in their care. The facility itself is well designed to be safe for the horses.

We cannot thank you enough for bringing our horse back to optimum health in a remarkably short period of time. In fact, our hopes and expectations have been surpassed – he looks better than he ever has, and is the happiest he’s ever been, all due to your hands-on outstanding professionalism. Your attention to detail is second to none, and your depth and breadth of knowledge is truly impressive. Our only regret is not coming to you sooner. Not only would we have saved ourselves a lot of time, frustration, and financial costs, but most importantly our horse would have been spared much pain and discomfort. We are finally experiencing first-class horse management together with a delightful atmosphere where we can enjoy the finest that horse ownership has to offer. We are overjoyed, and our horse has demonstrated that he agrees!

Admiral Gratton Legacy Farm is the only facility near the GTA to send horses to for rehabilitation. I have always trusted them with my horse, and they have delivered nothing but spectacular results. My horse always came back to me looking clean, fit, and most importantly: sound. Since I do not always have the time to rehabilitate my horse due to school and other riding obligations, Admiral Gratton is run so that they are fully aware of the individual program that every horse needs to recover. The facility itself is top notch and has amenities that are focused towards the recuperation of your equine friend.

We have had several of our horses at Admiral Gratton Legacy Farm for various lengths of time since 2007. We have been exceptionally pleased with the level of care and service. I know if I go to the farm on anyday, even unannounced, the horses will look fantastic and will be happy and healthy. I have recommended several other people to Chandra and Admiral Gratton Legacy Farm. They have all moved their horses there and have been very happy and satisfied with everything. A wonderful facility with exceptional care, pleasant and professional staff.

While my good horse Debussy was stabled at AGLF, he was very well cared for. Whenever I was away I never worried as I knew that I could count on the knowledgeable staff to take over in any emergency. Special needs were taken into account, scheduled and adhered to.

I moved my mare to Admiral Gratton in the summer of 2008 for a severe tendon injury. Before moving her to Chandra’s, we were not sure if she would ever jump again. With the consistent and effective program initiated by Chandra in collaboration with our vet, and with patience, my mare is now back in the ring competing. Even back in the show ring I can’t imagine keeping her anywhere else. The ongoing care she receives at Admiral Gratton, which includes daily wrapping, monthly treatments and regular exercising, is what keeps her fit and sound. Without hesitation, I would recommend the farm to anyone for rehab, layup or boarding. It is a beautiful facility.

I cannot recommend this farm highly enough for the fantastic care and commitment both staff and owners have offered my horse. He has never looked so good as he does now at Admiral Gratton!
