- Daily exercise: controlled undersaddle work
- Monitoring and analysis of horse’s movement to ensure proper use of its whole body
- Managing compromised areas (whether result of conformation, past chronic lameness, etc)
- Administration of prescribed medications (twice daily)
- Standing wrap changes
- Basic daily wound care (cleaning, administering topical medication)
- Hot/cold hosing
- Hoof soaking
- Application of cold therapy/ice boots
- Blanketing
- Grooming maintenance
- Specialized feed program for horses on restricted movement
- Turnout and monitoring in round pen (per veterinarian protocol)
- Handling horse for farrier and veterinarian visits
- Progress charted with daily written logs, photographs, and video clips which can be used to communicate with owners, trainers, and veterinarians
